Maths Maze Puzzle Tips

General Tips:

Think ahead – Sometimes you will need to move tiles temporarily out of order to open up a square in a specific position

Row by Row Strategy

  1. Start by solving the top row (1, 2, 3, 4) first
  2. Then next solve the second row (5, 6, 7, 8) next
  3. The 3rd and 4th rows are solved simultaneously next

Note: Try to avoid moving the tiles in the 1st row and the 2nd row once they are solved.

The Fringe Strategy

The Fringe Strategy  AKA solving from edges of the puzzle inward

  1. Solve the top row (1, 2, 3, 4).
  2. This top row is now fixed. 
  3. Solve the leftmost column (1, 5, 9, 13).
  4. This column is now fixed.
  5. Now the puzzle is reduced to a 3 by 3 grid left to solve.
  6. Solve in the rest of the 2nd row (6, 7, 8). This row is now fixed.
  7. Solve the non-fixed tiles in the 3rd (10, 11, 12) and 4th rows (14, 15) simultaneously.
